Though distinct from GERD, dyspepsia (commonly known as indigestion) overlaps so much with it that often it’s hard to identify. They’re basically the same thing.
You may recognise symptoms such as the painful feeling of burning in the chest, often after eating, or the acid from your stomach rising up into your throat – though the condition cannot be fully cured, it can be successfully managed through lifestyle changes, medication or a combination of the two.
